Top Five Recommendations for Travel Destinations

Traveling is one of my favorite things to do! I have visited 15 different states. Since I have traveled a lot, I wanted to share five places in the US I have been and would recommend going.

1.  St. Louis, Missouri -  One of my favorite places to visit in St. Louis is the St. Louis arch. When visiting, one takes an elevator to the top of the arch and can look down at the city below.  There is also a city museum downtown that features an indoor playground with a 10-foot slide and tunnels for kids and adults. If you're looking for something free to do, St. Louis has an expansive zoo and science museum.

2.  Tennessee - This state is known for its beautiful mountains. They have some really fun things to go see Rock City, like caves and tunnels formed by rocks on top of Lookout Mountain. Ruby Falls, another cave that is 126 feet below the surface of the Earth, has a waterfall in the middle of the cave. Tennessee can boast that it has the steepest mountain in the world, as Incline Mountain is located within its borders. To reach the top of this mountain, one must take a train to pull. When you reach the top of the mountain, there is an observation deck sporting a picturesque view of Chattanooga.

3. Iowa - This state is not for the faint of heart! Temperatures there vary but often reach below zero. The best time to visit Iowa is in the spring because the temperature is in the seventies. Iowa has an Art museum called the Figge Art Museum. The museum showcases art from as far back as the 15th century. If looking at art, doesn’t float your boat, one might enjoy a trip to The John Deere Museum (which displays real tractors and equipment) more.

4. Florida - I must admit, sheepishly, that I have only been to Florida for four days. But, I have done much research on the state and it is definitely a place I would like to visit in the future. Florida has 663 miles of beaches ready for one to spend a relaxing day in the sand. If you are looking for something more commercial to do, I would recommend going to Disney World or Universal Resort.

5.  Chicago - The famous Cloud Gate Park, the home of the iconic “bean”, is a great place to have a picnic and take Instagram-worthy pictures. If one wants to push the limits and test their fear of heights, Willis Tower (one of the tallest buildings in the world) should be top of your bucket list.
